You will see the results immediately, but the full effect will be seen at about 2 weeks when any swelling has settled and the filler has had time to integrate.
Dermal fillers typically last between 6 to 18 months, depending upon the area treated, the product used and the way each individual’s body responds to break down the filler.
Short-lived side effects include possible redness and swelling which should resolve over 24-48 hours. Bruising is always a possibility and if it occurs may take 2-3 weeks to resolve completely. You should therefore take this into account if you have any important social events coming up. The fillers are biocompatible gel implants and may, uncommonly, become infected. More serious complications are rare. These will be explained to you during the consent process before you undergo any procedure.
As with any small injection, patients may experience mild discomfort as the dermal filler is administered. A local anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand to minimise the impact, and many patients hardly feel the effects.
